Blogs & Links
Following are links to several of my online journals or weblogs (blogs) if you prefer that term. I hope you take the time to visit there and maybe even leave a comment on topics that you find posted there. I have also listed links to many of the sites I frequent on the Internet. I hope you find them useful as well.
Blogs:
Plowboy’s Porch - my blog created specifically for this website.
Mysticmountain - my blog at livejournal.com
My Others Sites:
Bluegrass Solutions - This is the site for the group of freelance writers, graphic artists and Internet gurus I am putting together to provide services to clients across the Internet.
Kentucky Livestock Exchange - This is a site for livestock producers/buyers. I participate on both ends of the same stick as a farmer myself and realized the need for a "before-market" opportunity to buy and sell livestock. The mission of this site is to provide a forum for both sides to meet and arrange the private treaty sale/purchase of animals.
Bluegrass Country Store - (Not open for business yet, under construction) This site is affiliated with KLE and will concentrate of selling Kentucky-made, raised and crafted products. It will provide a global opportunity for regional farmers and craftspeople.
Home Heating Oil Prices - This site belongs to a client of mine. I wrote a good bit of the content you will find there, for those of you curious about my freelance work. It is an exceptional site to visit if you have questions about any heating fuels or systems. It is also an excellent marketing spot for heating professionals.
Links:
This is a list of web sites I frequent. If you find time you might enjoy a visit there as well. There is usually something to be found to fit everyone’s interests.
Friends Links:
Shannon "Tommy" Thomas - This site belongs to a good friend and fellow writer. The West Virginian has just finished his first novel and is seeking publication. I can guarantee you will see it on the bookstore shelves before long. Go have a look for yourself at some of his work.
RandomHeadTrips - Tommy’s blog, an addendum to his site.
Tamara Isaac - A little woman I know from the great state of Missouri who seems to go from one adventure to the next. Visit her site and see her work there, I promise you will be glad you did. Make sure you visit her blog and leave a comment.
Slippy Jo - What can I say about SJ. Her writing captivated my heart from the first time I saw it. Her stories and poems are straight from the halls of a life well lived. A native New Yorker, SJ now makes her home on the Great Plains. Expect to see her books on the shelves beside Tommy’s just as soon as we can cure her MDD (motivational deficit disorder).
Marti - Tired of the cold of Ohio, Marti now makes her home on the island paradise of Maui. To say she has a unique view of things would be an understatement. Her work will leave you amused, enlightened and entertained. For anyone who thinks life in the islands is lazy and laid back, Marti will shoot that horse dead in it’s tracks. Slide on over and give her a read.
John Bogdanski - John hails from Connecticut and is a leading authority on the heating fuel industry. John is a business associate and a genuinely nice fellow. This link takes you to one of his several sites. Everybody I know (except Marti) depends on heat for at least a third of the year. I am sure you can learn some things from John that will help you stay warmer and save money doing it.
Writer’s Links:
Cybernetic Nexus - This is an up and coming watering hole for writers of all types. Well worth your time to visit if you like the written word.
Fiction Writer’s Community - A LiveJournal community where writers post pieces they have written. I sometimes post there also.
Writer’s Digest - Top-notch writer’s periodical full of information on writing, selling your work and publishing. They also offer many contests for professional and amateur authors alike.
Ploughshares - One of the leading literary journals in the world. You will also find links to many other notable publications there as well. I submit work there for publication.
Freelance Links:
iFreelance.com - This is the site I do my freelance work from for the most part. You are invited to visit my profile and view my portfolio there if you wish.
- Associated Content - I publish articles, stories and poetry through this site. If you write content for magazines or the Web, this is the place for you. AC buys AND sells content. So no matter which end you are on, they can help you out. Please, go look for yourself.
Web Site Development Links:
1 and 1 - This is the company my sites are hosted by. They are cutting-edge for the non-programmer wishing to build their own Internet presence. They offer hosting packages for Linex and Microsoft platforms across a wide variety of user specific needs. They even offer e-commerce packages like the one you can see at my Country Store site. I know I have been very pleased with both the product and the service.
Fotolia - This site is a gem of a source for photos you can purchase for a song. If you freelance and do artwork or if you just blog and need that special photo for a post, give Fotolia a look-see. And most important of all, in our litigious society, you receive a certificate of copyright for each photo you purchase.
